The Importance of School Beyond High School

In today’s technological age it is important for young people to consider education beyond high school.  Not only will further education increase your chances of getting a better job, it also gives you the chance to enjoy your life’s work.  A well-designed career plan will increase your chances of becoming a happy, well-adjusted adult.

To prepare for education beyond high school, you should be on the Recommended or Distinguished Achievement Plan.  The recommended plan is the one all SHS students began as freshmen.  If you dropped off this plan and are considering college in the future, see the counselor about your options.

If you are thinking about going for a GED, you will greatly decrease your chances of getting a job you like, a good paying job, or one that will give you satisfaction.  The more education you have, the more doors will be opened for you.  Stay in school, work hard, challenge yourself to finish your Senior year in a grand manner.  Don’t try to coast this year.  It is very well the most important year of your high school career.  Make it count!!
