National Jr. Honor Society

It seems much of the year I have written about things that are being done by our National Jr. Honor Society and the students from this group helping others.  This month we are honoring them in a couple of ways. 

            First of all the students from the NJHS will sponsor a dance for Sunray Middle School students only. This dance will be on the 14th of February (Valentine’s Day).  The dance will be from 7-9 pm, and will be sponsored by Janet Pipkin, Sid Whiteley, and other parents and teachers that have not been elected yet.  The students from the NJHS will sell snacks and drinks and admission to the dance to make money for operating expenses for the club.  These students are always volunteering to help others and now they are working for the benefit of themselves and their club.

            Also, on the 18^th of February, the same club will be inducting their newest groups of members as the 7^th graders that have qualified will be inducted.  The eighth graders will be honored as well on this night if they are in the NJHS.  The meeting will begin at 7:00 in the Middle School cafeteria.  Please come by and help celebrate with our newest members and honor all of the students in this prestigious club.  Punch and cookies will be served afterwards.
