| Middle School Food Drive a huge success |
This years event brought in nearly 3400 pounds of canned food for needy families. The competition involves the campuses that include k-8 grades, and they compete by homeroom to try to collect the largest amount of food.
The food is then divided up into boxes of combined foods for families, and loaded up and taken to the "food pantry" by the Sunray Ministerial alliance. Local Pastor's volunteer their time to deliver the much needed items to the families selected.
This is an annual event that Janet Pipkin has chosen to sponsor with her group, and the final announcements of classroom winners and drawing winners for prizes were given on the 20th of December following the annual 8th grade boy beauty pageant. There were many visitors there for the pageant and to hear of the final total of the food drive.
