The 2007-2008 school calendar will have several new wrinkles as state law requires that the starting date can not be before the 4th Monday in August.  Therefore, the 2007-2008 calendar will begin with students on August 27, 2007.  Since this is such a late start, we will not take Labor Day off as we  have in the past few years, but we will have the following holidays in the Fall Semester.  Student Hoilidays for the Fall will be:  October 8, 2007;November 21-23,2007; and December 24-Jan.2,2008.   The first semester will not end until January 11, 2008 which will also be an early release day for testing.   In the Spring Semester, the following hoildays will be observed for students:  March 17-21,2008; April 28, 2008 and May 26, 2008.  The second semester will end on May 29, 2008 with an early dismissal for testing and graduation will occur on May 30, 2008.    Other days of interest will be parent report pick-up days.  These days will be early release for students and then parents can come and meet with teachers at the campuses for 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm.   The dates for the parent report pick-up are October 30, 2007 and March 25, 2008.   If you have questions about the calendar, do not hesitate to call or come by the office and if you would like a copy, it is available on sunrayisd.net.   You can get their by looking under district and the about sisd link.
