Sunray is filled with senior citizens who are so supportive of our schools and of the students here at the schools. Some are grandparents or aunts and uncles of our students, but many are not. They just enjoy our students. Some volunteer at the elementary school. These men and women attend our plays, our athletic events, and our assemblies. The interact with SHS students through our organizations like FCCLA and SHS Student Council. These people are the ones who buy cookie dough, stew supper tickets, and lots of other items they may not really need.

Each year we at Sunray High School want to say thank you to this group of Sunray citizens. Our student council members host a Senior Citizens Thanksgiving Luncheon each year during the month of November. That tradition will continue again this November. On Wednesday, November 14, at 12:30 p.m., all senior citizens are invited to the annual Senior Citizens Thanksgiving Luncheon in the middle school cafeteria. Mr. Hazlett will send out letters to community members, but if you don’t receive one and would like to attend, please give him a call at the high school (948-5515). We need you to RSVP so the cafeteria staff is able to prepare enough lunches.
Gratitude is our attitude for this great group.
